Case Studies
Case Study A
Mrs A was very quickly moved to rented
accommodation in the Matlock area having escaped domestic violence.
She was referred to us by a local housing association. Mrs A and her
daughter had no furniture at all, not even the most basic but
essential household items. She needed beds for herself and her
daughter, somewhere to sit in comfort and eat her meals off and
somewhere to store her own and daughter’s clothes. These were the
minimum requirements she felt that she would be able to meet on a
very limited budget.
At very short notice Encore Re-Use
was able to
supply and deliver beds and mattresses, a three-piece suite,
wardrobes, bedside cabinets and a kitchen table and chairs. For good
measure we were able to give her cutlery, cups, plates and bed
linen.
All this won’t solve all Mrs A’s problems, but it
does contribute to her rebuilding her life in new surroundings in a
more comfortable and less stressful way.
Case Study B
Mrs B and her family had just moved into a new
council property having only got the keys that morning. She had a
supportive family but very little in the way of furniture and a very
limited budget to work with. With the cooperation of a local housing
association representative she was able to visit our furniture store
and personally chose the items she would most need for the immediate
future and that were within her budget.
The following day Encore Re-Use was able to
supply and deliver to her new home a table and chairs for the
kitchen; a double bed, mattress and wardrobe for the bedroom, and a
three piece suite to relax on. We were also able to give her some
bed linen and other items to help in a more comfortable restart.
Mrs B is now looking forward to refurbishing and
redecorating the rest of her new home.
